The Greek lavender bunch contains approximately 80–100 flowering stems. Customers mainly choose this format for decoration and natural home fragrance: vases, wreaths, dried arrangements, favours, wardrobe sachets and aromatic styling for tables or photography.
The bunch is edible, so the flowers may also be used in an infusion or in small culinary quantities. Nevertheless, the complete bouquet format is primarily intended for decorative and aromatic use. Remove flowers from the woody stems before making tea or adding them to a recipe.
Key properties
Lavender aroma is characterised by volatile constituents such as linalool and linalyl acetate. Tradition associates the flowers with relaxation, gentle antispasmodic and soothing action, circulatory stimulation, aromatic support for the nervous system and an antimicrobial character.
The calm floral scent explains their placement near pillows and in rest spaces. Herbal records mention nervous exhaustion, headache, difficulty sleeping, colic, indigestion and unpleasant breath within a gentle traditional-use context.
Uses
Decorative use: place the bunch in a dry vase or separate the stems for wreaths, arrangements and favours. For a scented sachet, gently rub flowers into a fine cotton bag. Sachets perfume wardrobes and are traditionally used to discourage moths.
For relaxation, place a small sachet near the pillow without allowing loose flowers to contact the eyes. Culinary use: a few flowers can flavour biscuits, sugar, lemonade, honey or syrup. The taste is powerful and can quickly become bitter, so begin with a very small amount.
As an infusion, lavender flowers are traditionally selected for evening calm, mild digestive discomfort, bloating and colic. This form is very different from concentrated lavender essential oil.
Preparation & dosage
Flower infusion: remove the flowers from their stems and use 1 teaspoon per cup of boiling water. Cover for 5–7 minutes and strain carefully. The original traditional direction allows up to 3 cups daily.
Scented sachet: fill a fine fabric bag with dry flowers and press it occasionally to refresh the fragrance. Use no water in a decorative vase because moisture increases the risk of mould.
The quantities are indicative and based on traditional use and published herbal medicine literature. For extended use or while taking medication, consult a healthcare professional.
Precautions
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, avoid regular internal use without professional advice. Reasonable external aromatic use is generally gentle. Stop if the fragrance causes allergic irritation, headache or nausea. Use care alongside sedative medicines. Lavender essential oil is not interchangeable with the flowers and cannot be taken according to tea proportions.
Frequently asked questions

Can the bunch flowers be used for tea?
