Organic tribulus tincture is a liquid hydroalcoholic extract of certified organic Tribulus terrestris. It differs from the standard tribulus tincture in its certified origin and in a defined 30-day cycle of use.
Main properties
Tribulus contains steroidal saponins, flavonoids and alkaloids. Traditional literature describes it as aphrodisiac, diuretic, lithotriptic, stomachic and tonic. Experimental work also examines anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, lipid-lowering and antidiabetic activity.
Uses
Traditional use includes:
- libido
- sexual weakness
- erectile function
- sperm quality
- fertility
in men, as well as female sexual function. Research also explores menopause, hot flushes and sleep, with results varying by study design and plant preparation.
Its urinary tradition covers kidney stones and gravel, painful urination and urinary infection. Other historical references include venereal disease, eye problems, liver restoration, mastitis, flatulence, acute conjunctivitis, headache and vitiligo.
Research relating to cancer remains mainly preclinical (in vitro and animal studies) and does not establish a clinical use for the herb.
How to use & dosage
10–15 drops in a little water, 2–3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals or 2 hours after, for a 30-day period.
Amounts follow the producer's own directions. For prolonged use, or if you are taking medication, consult a health professional.
Combinations with other herbs
For urinary traditions, pair with nettle or corn silk. Vitality formulas may combine it with ginseng only after professional review of blood pressure, glucose and interactions.
Precautions
- Contains alcohol: Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for children, for people with liver disease or epilepsy, or for those abstaining from alcohol. May interact with disulfiram and metronidazole. Always take diluted in a little water or juice.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children. Shake before use.
Avoid during pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood, serious liver or kidney disease and hormone-sensitive conditions without medical advice. It may affect blood pressure and glucose and interact with diabetes, blood-pressure, diuretic or hormonal medicines. Kidney pain, blood in urine, fever, mastitis, acute conjunctivitis or suspected infection requires prompt assessment.
Frequently asked questions
