Hemp seed oil is one of the most nutrient-dense edible oils. It is naturally rich in omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, antioxidants, proteins, carotene, phytosterols and phospholipids. It provides all 20 known amino acids and minerals including calcium, sulphur, potassium, iron, zinc and phosphorus, along with vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D and E. Its deep green colour comes from a high chlorophyll content.
Omega fatty acids
Its standout feature is an exceptionally high content of omega-3 and omega-6 — essential fatty acids the body cannot produce on its own and must obtain through diet. These fatty acids are widely researched in relation to cardiovascular wellness, immune function, the condition of skin and hair, and cognitive function. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), the omega-3 in hemp seed oil, contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels; this beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of ALA.
Important information
- This is not a medicinal product
- It is not intended for the prevention or treatment of any disease
- Consult a health professional before use
How to use
Use 1-2 tablespoons per day, raw. It is ideal drizzled over salads, dips and cold dishes; avoid using it for cooking or frying, as heat degrades the delicate fatty acids. Keep refrigerated after opening.
Frequently asked questions
Does it contain CBD or THC?
No — hemp seed oil is a nutritional oil pressed from the seeds and is not psychoactive.
Can I cook with it?
It is best used cold; heat degrades its omega fatty acids.
